Laser Surgery Scalpel
The laser scalpel is a surgery scalpel for cutting tissue using the energy of laser light and in ophthalmology, the use of excimer lasers change the shape of the cornea of the eye is a procedure known as LASIK and LASEK. Some other surgical fields where the laser scalpel is used are neurosurgery, circumcision, and vascular surgery. Currently the YAG and CO2 lasers are used in laser surgery
Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing uses laser surgery where a material is dissolved by a powerful laser. It is used in medical dermatology in the treatment of acne scars, other types of scars, old tatoos, warts, and spider spider veins.
Laser Liposuction
It is sometimes combined with liposuction to remove excess fat from the chin and jaw area where skin may be wrinkled after fat is sucked out and laser resurfacing can help tighten and smooth skin again. A plasma based device can also be used for skin resurfacing instead of a laser.
LASIK
Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis is refractive laser eye surgery for correcting myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism and the procedure is generally preferred to photorefractive keratectomy (PRK, also called ASA, Advanced Surface Ablation) because it requires less time for patient recovery and less pain. Many people prefer LASIK as an alternative to wearing corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses, despite that there are sometimes problems too horrible to describe here.
